Yarrow Honey Extract
From the windswept meadows of Europe to the high desert of the American West and many places in between including in many gardens around the world, this herb has been woven into folk traditions as a protector of both body and spirit.
In Indigenous herbal practices, including those of the Cheyenne, Lakota, and Navajo peoples, Yarrow was prepared as a tea or poultice to support wellness during seasonal shifts and was often burned ceremonially for purification. It was also used to support the body’s natural ability to adapt and to promote comfort and balance.
In Western herbalism, Yarrow has traditionally been used to promote sweating, support circulation, and maintain equilibrium during times of internal or environmental stress. Its bitter and aromatic properties made it a staple in digestive tonics and seasonal wellness formulas, particularly those aimed at maintaining fluid balance and cooling the system.
Ayurvedic practitioners recognize Yarrow as a cooling, aromatic herb that helps pacify excess Pitta and stagnant Kapha, while gently stimulating Vata. Its bitter and pungent qualities were traditionally used to encourage healthy circulation of prana and support the body's natural detoxification channels. Yarrow is also considered by many plant spirit herbalists to hold a fine balance between strength and sensitivity—offering grounding without heaviness and protection without closure. It’s a plant that encourages healthy boundaries, not walls.
Our honey extracts are created using a proprietary process developed using raw honey. The honey used in the extraction process works to extract different constituents of the plants, providing a more complete extraction while also adding a pleasant, sweet flavor. According to the Ayurvedic tradition, honey acts as a carrier during the digestive process, carrying and assimilating the herbs deeper into tissues.
